Ingredients
Cooking Instructions
step 1
In a large bowl, add Steak (2 lb) and season with Adobo Seasoning (1 tsp), Ground Black Pepper (to taste), Lime (1), Low-Sodium Soy Sauce (1 tsp), Ground Oregano (1/2 tsp) and Garlic (4 cloves). Mix together until all the ingredients are well blended. Marinate for better flavor, but is not necessary.
step 2
In a large pot oven over medium high heat, add cooking oil and allow to get hot. Add beef, lower heat to medium, give it a stir and cover and cook until the meat absorb its own juices.
step 3
Once there are no more juices in the pan, add Water (3 cups) 1 cup at a time and continue cooking the meat, covered, until tender. If the meat is still not tender after it has absorbed the water, continue adding 1 cup water at a time.
step 4
Repeat until the steak is tender. For me, meat was tender after 50 minutes, with 3 cups of water used in total. The time and water needed will depend on the cut of meat you use.
step 5
Once the beef is tender, add Red Onion (1/2), Red Bell Pepper (1/2) and Green Bell Pepper (1/2). Stir to combine, add few tablespoons of water and mix. Cover and cook for about 2 minutes. Turn off heat.
step 6
Serve with rice, rice and beans, fried plantains or whatever your heart desires.
