Grilled Turkey Kofta Burger
"What I love most about these kofta burgers is that they’re super quick and incredibly versatile. I have a turkey burger fetish, which is why I went with ground turkey here, but the recipe would also be great with ground chicken, lamb, or beef."
Ingredients
Cooking Instructions
step 1
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Feta Cheese (1/3 cup), Yellow Onions (4 Tbsp), Garlic (2 cloves), Italian Flat-Leaf Parsley (2 Tbsp), Fresh Mint (1 Tbsp), Ground Cumin (1 tsp).
step 2
Ground Coriander (1/2 tsp), Kosher Salt (1/2 tsp), Simply Organic Cinnamon, Ground (1/4 tsp), Ground Black Pepper (1/4 tsp) and Cayenne Pepper (1/4 tsp).
step 3
Add the 93/7 Lean Ground Turkey (1 lb) and gently mix until all of the ingredients are combined.
step 4
Gently form the turkey mixture into four patties, approximately ¾-inch thick. Using your thumb, make a small indent in the center of each patty.
step 5
Preheat a lightly oiled grill (or grill pan) over medium heat.
step 6
Meanwhile whip up the harissa yogurt sauce. Combine the Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt (3/4 cup), Lemon (1/2), Italian Flat-Leaf Parsley (1 Tbsp), Kosher Salt (to taste), Green Harissa (1 Tbsp), and Green Harissa (1 teaspoon) in a small bowl.
step 7
Place the burgers on the hot grill, thumbprint side down, and cook for 5-6 minutes per side until cooked through.
step 8
Warm your Whole Wheat Pita Bread (4) in the microwave (10-15 seconds should do it) or directly on the grill.
step 9
Time to build your burgers! Spread a dollop of yogurt sauce on the bottom half of each pita “bun.”
step 10
Top each with a small handful of finely chopped Romaine Hearts (1 1/2 cups) and a burger.
step 11
Garnish with thinly sliced English Cucumber (1/4), Plum Tomato (1) that have been sliced into rounds and Red Onion (1/2) and finish with extra yogurt sauce. Add everything together and serve immediately. Enjoy!
