All-Purpose Flour, sifted

Guinness® Stout Beer
1cup
Irish Cheddar Cheese, grated
4Tbsp
Fresh Chives, chopped
4Tbsp
Irish Butter, melted

Cooking Instructions

step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line 8 1/2- x 4 1/2-inch loaf pan with parchment paper, or coat with butter.

In a mixing bowl, thoroughly whisk together the All-Purpose Flour (2 3/4 cups), Granulated Sugar (3 Tbsp), Baking Powder (1 Tbsp), and Salt (1 tsp).

Pour in the Guinness® Stout Beer (12 fl oz) and mix until the dry ingredients are evenly moistened.

Fold in the grated Irish Cheddar Cheese (3/4 cup) and Fresh Chives (4 Tbsp).

Transfer the batter to prepared pan.

Pour the Irish Butter (4 Tbsp) evenly over top of the dough.

Bake about 30 minutes then scatter the remaining 1/4 cup of Irish Cheddar Cheese (4 Tbsp) over the top.

Return the loaf to the oven and bake 15 to 20 minutes longer or until a tester inserted near the center comes out clean.

Cool in the pan for 5 minutes.

Turn out and serve warm, sliced.
