Homemade Tortillas

Cooking Instructions

step 1

Measure out All-Purpose Flour (2 cups) and Salt (1/2 tsp) and combine in a large mixing bowl.

Add Butter (1 Tbsp) and cut into flour with a pastry knife until well incorporated.

Slowly stir in Water (3/4 cup) forming into a dough. Pour contents onto work surface and knead for one to two minutes.

Divide dough into four equal balls.

Roll each ball into a round tortilla (about 10-12 inch diameter) with a rolling pin.

Preheat pan to medium to medium-high heat. Place a tortilla in the heated pan until golden brown on one side (about sixty to ninety seconds). Flip tortilla on other side to brown. Remove tortilla and place on a plate or in a container. Repeat for remaining tortillas.

If not using tortillas within the hour, save tortillas in a sealed container in the refrigerator until ready to eat. Re-heat tortillas with a wet paper towel and microwave for 20 to 30 seconds.
